Context
Some Kickdrum engagements needed more than delivery leadership — they needed someone who could help shape the commercial terms and risk posture of the engagement itself during discovery and definition. For select clients, that meant stepping into a solutions-engineering-style role alongside the standard product lead work, plus a separate, firm-wide practice evaluating regulatory and transaction risk.
What I Did
- Built pricing packages and commercial structures for select client engagements during discovery and definition, working alongside sales and delivery leadership on the offerings that needed that level of rigor.
- Led pre-transaction product and technology diligence engagements for private equity clients, evaluating target companies' product organizations to identify value-transformation opportunities.
- Developed maturity rubrics used to assess financial and product measurement capabilities inside those target companies, giving investors a standardized way to judge whether a business held up under scrutiny.
- Led regulatory risk evaluations across client engagements, including GDPR impact assessments for international clients and compliance risk analysis for healthcare clients, partnering directly with legal counsel to determine viability.
- Coordinated strategic alignment with internal leadership, private equity investors, and customer executives, defining roadmaps and objectives while driving cross-organizational buy-in.
Outcome
- Pricing and commercial structures built firsthand for the engagements that needed them, not templated from a standard rate card
- A regulatory risk practice that gave clients, and Kickdrum itself, a documented basis for saying yes or no to an engagement
