Led international product strategy for a mobile telecom expense management business through global expansion, multiple acquisitions, and an eventual IPO.

A patented liability framework and a governance model built to scale across 105 countries and six continents.

Client: Tangoe
Role: Product Manager, International Mobile TEM Solutions
Timeframe: 2008 – 2013

Context

Tangoe operated in mobile telecom expense management (TEM), a category where billing, provisioning, and accountability had to work consistently across wildly different regulatory environments, from North America to over a hundred other countries — all while the company itself was scaling through acquisition toward a public offering.

What I Did

  • Directed globally distributed teams across the U.S., India, and China executing a multi-year strategic roadmap for TEM solutions serving 350 enterprise clients.
  • Co-invented the Hybrid Liability Model (US Patents 9473922, 9930510), a patented approach to redefining telecom expense management and accountability frameworks.
  • Led global expansion from North America to 105 countries across six continents, navigating diverse billing, provisioning, and regulatory landscapes along the way.
  • Evaluated multiple acquisition targets to expand geographic and technology footprint, supporting transaction evaluations that assessed product and technology fit ahead of investment decisions.
  • Tailored solutions for a global customer base, adapting to multilingual, multi-currency, and region-specific telecom infrastructures for 50+ Fortune 500 clients.

Outcome

  • $30M+ in annual revenue
  • 2 patents, co-invented
  • Navigated the company through a successful IPO — the first and only company in its sector to do so
